VBS is…
Our Vacation Bible School is in full swing this week. I’ve been reminded of some key truths about this ministry. Let me list a few of them.
VBS is…
1. fun.
2. tiring.
3. loud.
4. a time of fellowship, even for our adults.
5. learning.
6. a great chance for kids to worship on their level.
7. a key outreach event for our church.
8. important.
9. not outdated.
10. tiring. (That one bears repeating.)
It is critically important that we continue to develop the best children’s ministry that we possibly can. VBS is important, but every other week of the year is also important. We must always be asking the question, “How can we teach and disciple our children in the most effective way possible?”
It was evident in Jesus’ life that children are very important to him. (Matthew 19:13-15 & Mark 9:42) I love kids and I think it’s so cool to worship a God who loves kids, too! Let’s be sure to give them our very best!

LUMINOUS ACTIVITIES & PROGRAMS
NITRO (MONDAY ACTIVITIES) - July 2006
Monday Nitro has now gone to once a month. Our next meeting will take place July 3, 2006 at 11AM.
QUEST (WEDNESDAY NIGHT YOUTH GROUP)- June 28, 2006
We will wrap up our Mythbusters study in which we discuss common myths about the Bible & God.
CIY MONEY
In order for your student to go to CIY this year, Luminous Student Ministries needs a final payment of $75.00 per student, due July 31, 2006. This amount is conditionary on your student acheiving the 40 hours of service which is also due the same day. In the event that the forty hours are not met, the remaining balance of $150.00 will be due.
VERTICAL (SMALL GROUP STUDIES)
Our small group ministry for Sr High Students will kick-off this fall. Sign-up to participate now.

Upcoming Events
Gospel of John Bible School Class begins Sunday, June 25th.
Join this six month study, in the auditorium, on the Gospel of John taught by Dave Cole. The course will provide a framework to study the seven great "I Am's", seven miracles of Jesus, seven sayings from the cross, and many other beneficial topics.
Ice Cream Social - Sunday, July 2nd
Apex - Saturday, July 8th at 6:00 pm
