Calling All Sports Camp Volunteers
You can still line up the most rewarding experience of your summer by grabbing a spot as a volunteer for ACC's Sports Camp June 19-24. Stop by our table in the Connect area after church to sign up or contact Children's Minister Marie Young. Know this. You don't have to know about sports to get involved, but you do have to love Jesus! Join our army of passionate volunteers as we serve literally hundreds of kids from our community.
If you haven't yet registered your children, you must sign up online at ameliasportscamp.com.
Volunteer News You Need Now
- There will be an all-volunteer lunch and training session next Sunday, May 15, right after church. Lunch is on us.
- For security reasons and to better brand the event, all volunteers will be asked to purchase a t-shirt ($10 each) and wear it each night. Please plan to order and (if possible) pay for your shirt at the May 15 meeting. If you can't make the meeting, you'll need to get in touch with Josh Young before May 15 to assure your shirt gets ordered on time.
- All volunteers will need a background check. This only requires filling out a simple form with some basic information. All information will be kept confidential. If you've had a background check for the church already, you won't need a new one. If you have one from the school, you'll need to provide a copy.
- If you aren't able to volunteer but you want to help make an impact at Sports Camp; we have an immediate need for cash donations to help purchase water bottles for every child. Please give your donation to Marie Young or Julie Bach.
Where do you fit in?
We have a ton of opportunities for you to serve, and you can see all of our teams below. But our biggest need at this point is for Huddle Coaches. What's a Huddle Coach you ask?
Each Huddle Coach is responsible for 10 kids the entire week. As a Huddle Coach, you will be the face of our church to these kids. In a very real way, you will be Jesus to 10 children for an entire week, some of which have never learned a single thing about God's love for them. As a Huddle Coach, your group of awesome kids will report to you every night at drop off. It is your job to love them, boost their spirits and get them ready for an awesome and exhausting night of fun. Between sports sessions, you'll get a chance to huddle up with your group for a few minutes to share that night's lesson. Don't worry, everything you need will be provided in a clear and simple way.
