The Connection

"What Jim Said" Starts Sunday

Some people have a knack for cutting through all the fluff and getting at the heart of the matter. Jim (aka, James, the brother of Jesus) had that gift. In the book of James, he lays out some of the clearest, most direct teaching in all of Scripture...and he pulls no punches while he does it. In this four-week series, we're going to take an eye-opening, and at times painful, walk through the book of James. Get ready, because it's not always easy to listen to what Jim said.

Small Group Sign-ups End Sunday

Small Groups are how we grow in God and grow with others at ACC. We have four new groups starting Feb. 5 including "For Couples Only," "Financial Peace University," "The Daniel Plan" and "Romans: Righteousness in Christ." Stop by the Small Groups table in the Connect area after church Sunday for details or to grab your spot. Or make it easy and sign-up online now. But you better hurry! The Romans group is already full, and others are filling up fast.

Creation Museum Trip for 2nd-5th Graders

On Saturday, March 3rd, ACC's KidZone is taking a field trip to the Creation Museum. If you would like your 2nd-5th grader to come along with our adult volunteers, contact Children's Minister Marie Young by Feb. 1. Tickets are $15. Your kids will have a blast.

Student Ministries Update

Our junior and senior high students will gather at the church from 6-7:30PM this Sunday to hang out together, then divide up by age for a Small Group discussion. On Feb. 5, they'll have a Super Bowl party at Brian and Cara Morrissey's house from 5PM to the end of the game. The cost will be $3. Contact Nicki Edmisten with questions, to sign-up to bring a snack or to get directions.

Final Details for Believe Conference

ACC is sending 14 junior highers and 5 adults to the Christ In Youth Believe conference at the Bank of Kentucky Center in Highland Heights Feb. 24-25. The cost is $70 and includes an overnight hotel stay. The first payment of $50 has been collected. The remaining $20 is due to Nicki Edmisten by Feb. 5 along with a medical release form. Your child will also require money for a dinner, a lunch and any extra cash if they plan to purchase anything at the Believe store. Students will leave ACC on Friday, Feb. 24 at 4:00PM and return on Saturday, Feb. 25 around 5:00PM. Student sponsors who will be attending are James & Tish Carwell, Cara Morrissey, Cory Vinson and Seth Layman. Thanks guys. You are awesome!
