Jay Henry, of Mid-India Christian Mission, will be at ACC this Sunday, July 6. Jay is one of two foreign missionaries that ACC supports. You don't want to miss this rare opportunity to meet Jay face-to-face! He will be preaching in both services. He'll also be speaking to our combined teen/adult classes at 10:00 am.
Just in time for the kickoff of KIDZONE Sunday, June 1, the ACC basement renovation got well underway as 15 volunteers dug into the project May 31.
Down came all the old ceiling tiles, the block wall, as well as the old accordian dividers -- all of which were hauled out to a waiting dumpster.
Stay tuned for the next work day as we take the next step toward remaking our children's center -- a project we intend to wrap up by fall for the full kickoff of our new children's program.
Next up, new lights, new ceiling, new paint, new doors and more. Plus, we'll be taking steps to eliminate any future flooding and moisture issues.
New programming will take place June 1 for KIDZONE. Children ages birth - 2 will be in the nursery. All other ages will be downstairs where the child(ren) will be checked in and taken to the age appropriate class. Safari Park (ages 3-K) will be having worship at 10:10 a.m. and Sunday School 11:00 a.m. STAND! will be having Sunday School at 10:10 a.m. and worship at 11:00 a.m. We will also begin a Child Check-in program on this day. Parents will be required to drop off and pick up their own child. So, please allow extra time to get everyone checked in to the appropriate rooms.
Earlier this year our church started a search for a children's minister. We are excited to announce that Melanie Presta will be joining our staff as our children's minister this month.
Melanie and her husband, Paul, live in Amelia along with their four children.
In addition to being a wife and mom, Melanie has a wealth of children's ministry experience in volunteer and paid positions at Syria Christian Church in Paoli, IN and Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, KY.
Melanie was onstage during both services this Sunday, May 4, to share her passion and vision for this ministry. She has some HUGE plans and dreams for the children's ministry at ACC! Be sure to give Melanie and her family a warm welcome!
