If you help out in any capacity at KidZone, we want to show you some love with a pancake breakfast at 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 2.
As you've likely heard by now, that's the day our KidZone programming is shifting dramatically with the end of our Sunday School hour and the beginning of a new extended worship time from 10:30AM to Noon.
First, we would just like to say thanks. Because of your efforts, our children's ministry is growing like crazy. And that's awesome news. Second, we'd like to cast a vision for you as to what our new Sunday morning setup will look like. We are sure some may have questions, and we want to answer all of them.
Whether you are a nursery volunteer, part of the check-in crew, a teacher, an assistant, a media tech or you help lead worship downstairs, you are invited at 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 2.
God is doing amazing things through this ministry, so let's celebrate together.
Starting on Sunday, October 2, we will be moving the starting time for our worship service to 10:30AM. Service will end by Noon.
To accommodate this, we will be bringing our Sunday School program to an end.
As Mike said from the stage on Sunday, these changes are being made in an effort to reach the most people for Jesus, accommodate our growth and fully implement the steps of our vision.
Watch Mike's announcement below.
The numbers in KidZone, our children’s ministry, have exploded over the past year, which is really exciting. Our numbers are nearly double what we had a year ago downstairs, but all of our growth is taking place during our second hour worship time rather than our Sunday School hour. With the increase in numbers, we are having an increasingly difficult time staffing everything necessary to run this ministry effectively. The result is that our volunteers are becoming exhausted. A church is only as good as the quality of its volunteers, and we have the best volunteers around. And we want to keep it that way. Staffing one service as opposed to two sets them up to succeed in a big way.
We will also be able to increase the quality of our main service even more, both for kids and adults because our focus will no longer be divided between the two hours.
And most importantly, we are a church of small groups.Small Groups have completely revolutionized relationships within our church. People are growing with God and growing with others in ways that we’ve never seen before. This move allows us to put all our resources and energy into growing our small groups – with our adults, our teens AND with our kids.
Starting October 2, we will extend the time of our service from a little over an hour to about an hour and a half. This will allow time for deeper, more complete preaching of the Word.
It will also give our children’s ministry the time they need to fully implement small groups into their worship service. Because we’re not about just playing games and having fun. We’re about teaching kids the Word of God on their level in the most effective way possible. This change will allow us to place our focus on reaching the most kids through the use of small groups during our main time with them.
God’s vision is alive here, we are incredibly excited about the growth that is happening at ACC, and we can’t wait to see what God is going to do next in our church!
A decade has passed since the attacks of 9/11. In what seemed like an instant, thousands were dead, pillars of American architecture laid in ruins, and our country's confidence was shaken to its core. It was a time of unprecedented fear and uncertainty. You don't want to miss this very special service as we remember the attacks from 10 years ago and talk about those still happening in our lives today.
Please don't be late as some of the most powerful elements Sunday are at the very beginning of the service.
Starting in September, KidZonevolunteers will be meeting right before the service to pray, have
communion and prepare their hearts to serve Jesus. Every volunteer from
the nursery, check-in, teachers and assistants will come together and
focus on what the morning is all about - teaching little ones about
Jesus.
"I'm so excited to be united and help prepare our little ones'
hearts to know our awesome creator," says Children's Minister Marie
Young. "I'm looking forward to seeing how this small change will impact
our ministry, because we all know prayer does BIG things."
If you are
serving at the 10:00AM service, please plan to arrive at 9:30 downstairs
for prayer starting Sept 4.If you are serving at 11:00AM, please come
at 10:30. Huge thanks to Marie and all our volunteers for your
dedication to making KidZone amazing for ACC's kids.
Contact Marie if you have any questions or would like to get involved in this ministry.
Less than two weeks remain for Small Groups registration. If you haven't grabbed your sport in one of our four groups for the Fall semester, hurry up. Some may fill up fast, and registration absolutely ends Sunday, Sept. 4.
You can see the choices and register online now , or you can swing by the Small Groups table in the connect area after church if you have any questions for our Small Groups team.
There's no better way to Connect, Grow and Serve at ACC than getting into a Small Group.
