This week's message is from guest speaker Adam Jones. Adam is the youth minister at Georgetown Church of Christ Located in Georgetown Ohio.

“The Umbrella Of Comfort”
o     “Just calm down!” story
•    Genesis 11:27-28
•    Genesis 11:29-30
•    Genesis 11:31
o    Acts 7:2 tells us God called Abram before he left Ur
o    Ur was a comfortable place to leave – the move was because of faith, not comfort level
o    Terah knew of Abram’s call but settled in a comfortable place along the journey
•    Genesis 11:32
o    When we camp in our comfort and settle for less than God’s call, we die with our potential
o    The LAST thing you want to do is to die with potential
•    Genesis 12:1
•    Genesis 12:2-3
o    God wants to bless His people but His blessings ALWAYS come with a call to be uncomfortable
•    Genesis 12:4
•    Genesis 12:5
o    They arrive at the “Promised Land” but the rest of Abram’s life was filled with repeated calls to be uncomfortable – calls to leave the familiar so he can experience the best blessings

o    The fig tree was absorbing God’s blessings – rain, nutrients, sunshine, shade – but not producing any fruit
